8th Grade- Monday, May 22, 2:30 PM
6th Grade- Tuesday, May 23, 9:30 AM 7th grade- Tuesday, May 23, 11:25 AM We are so proud of all of our students for a fantastic school year! If your child earns Perfect Attendance, and/or All A’s in every class for all four quarters for the current school year, he/she will be recognized at the end of year Honors Assembly for their grade level. Parents will not receive an individual invitation; however, if your child qualifies for this award, you are welcome to attend the Honors Assembly for your child’s grade level. These names will be shared in your child’s homeroom prior to the awards ceremony. For the 8th grade Awards Ceremony there were also be special recognition for students who have had Perfect Attendance and/or All A’s for all three years in middle school. In addition to these awards, the academic teachers in each grade level will pick one male and one female student for a Subject Area Award. Selected students in each grade level will receive special Character Awards, for the character traits addressed in our character education program this year. The grade level lead teacher will be contacting these parents via email by Friday, May 12. We will be asking parents to keep this part a secret! The President’s Award for Academic Excellence will also be presented by our counselors. It recognizes 8th grade students that have scored at least an 85% in reading or math on a nationally normed test (ITBS) and also maintained an A average in all classes for all three years in middle school. These students will be contacted via email by Tracy Fields, our 8th grade counselor. Parents may sit in the last three rows of the theater upon arrival. After the students in the grade level are seated, parents may fill in any available seats. Unfortunately there will not be enough seats for all guests and some adults will have to stand. The assembly will last approximately one hour (the 8th grade ceremony may go longer). If you have any questions about the awards ceremony you may contact Shannon Kiger, Assistant Principal.
